10/29/2007 - Rio De Janeiro, Brazil (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Defending champions Sao Paulo moved to within one point of clinching its second-straight league title on Sunday as the club earned a 2-1 win at Sport Recife.
Goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni had a busy afternoon as he scored a goal, missed a penalty kick, and made some quality saves down the stretch to help his side claim all three points.
The win allowed Sao Paulo to take a 15-point lead on both Santos and Palmeiras with just five games to play, all but assuring the club of another title.
Rogerio put his team in front after 28 minutes with a brilliant free kick for his sixth goal of the season, and he then made a great sprawling stop to deny the home side at the other end.
The keeper had a chance for his second goal of the game when Sao Paulo was awarded a penalty kick, but Rogerio's spot kick was stopped.
The visitors went ahead by two goals in the 62nd minute on Aloisio's tally, but Sport was given a penalty kick of its own minutes later and Da Silva converted from the spot to make it 2-1.
The hosts pressured the Sao Paulo defense down the stretch, but Rogerio made a couple of big stops to give his club all three points.
Santos downed Goias 3-0 on Sunday to move into second place, ahead of Palmeiras, who was held to a 2-2 draw by Vasco da Gama. Santos and Palmeiras are level on points with Santos holding the edge in goal differential.
Sao Paulo needs only a draw on Wednesday at home against America RN to seal the title.

MySportsbook.com refunds all bets on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay from NFL week one.
(September 14) – Week one of NFL action saw three teams go scoreless for the first time since 1977. Another four were unable to get a touchdown and almost half of the underdogs covered the spread. Those three teams saved bettors at MySportsbook.com from losing out completely, thanks to the company’s unique NFL Shutout Rule -- which ensures that if the team you backed goes scoreless, your wager is refunded.
Sportsbook refunded tens of thousands of dollars to customers who bet on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay, the three teams that stunk up the field so badly that their fans and backers never had a chance to get up from their couches and cheer. In the spirit of the low scoring start to the season, odds makers at the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino have set odds on how many total shutouts there will be this season.
MySportsbook.com has posted updated sports betting lines for week two of the season. Ben Roethlisberger’s health status is still questionable, so Willie Parker will try to lead Pittsburgh again as they travel to Jacksonville as a one point favorite. After beating up on his little brother last week, Peyton Manning will look to lead the Colts to victory against Houston. Indianapolis is a whopping 13.5 favorite in the match-up.
Seattle, last year’s highest scoring team, showed the power of their defense with their gritty 9-6 win in Motown over the ravenous Lions. They take their act back home to the comforts of Qwest Field where they will face the resurgent Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks are favored by a touchdown.

Chiefs' Treen Green out for Sunday's game
How long Trent Green will remain sidelined is unknown. Coach Herm Edwards said Monday he will miss a second straight start Sunday when the Chiefs host the San Francisco 49ers.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Green was going into a feet-first hook slide when he was knocked unconscious by a thunderous, head-snapping hit from Cincinnati's Robert Geathers.
Oddsmakers at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com currently have the Chiefs listed as 7-point favorites versus the 49ers.
The 49ers got beat by Philadelphia 38-24 as a 6.5-point underdog last week. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (42.5).
Alex Smith completed 27-of-46 passes for 293 yards with a touchdown. Michael Robinson rushed for 29 yards and a pair of touchdowns on five carries.
The Chiefs lost 9-6 to Denver last week as an 11-point underdog. The combined score was well UNDER the posted over/under total (38).
Larry Johnson rushed for 126 yards on 27 carries. Damon Huard completed 17-of-23 passes for 133 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
